Women of Distinction

The Women of Distinction event is an annual fundraiser presented in partnership with BP.  For the last 21 years, the Farthest North Girl Scout Council has joined the community of Fairbanks to recognize and award three remarkable women, while supporting Girl Scouts in Alaska.  Click here to learn more.

Early Bird Registration Begins!

Is your troop returning in the fall for another fun year of Girl Scouting?  Beat the back-to-school rush and register your troop early!  Every girl you register gets a cool Early Bird fun patch, plus you earn $1 per girl for your Service Unit!  Early Bird packets are available at the Council office.  Early Bird Registration ends on May 31st.

Annual Business Meeting

At the Council BP Room
Coffee & food will be available at 9:30am, the meeting will begin promptly at 10:00am.

All adult members and Girl Scouts over 14 years of age are invited to our Annual Meeting!  Learn what our troops and Council have been up to in the past year and hear updates on future plans.  After the business, we will hand out our Adult Recognition Awards.  No children under 14 are allowed.

Step Up Training – Daisies to Brownies

5:30pm to 6:15pm at the Council BP Room

Is your troop bridging up to a new grade-level?  Do you need information on how to conduct a bridging ceremony?  Join us for this informational training.  You’ll learn all about what to expect from girls at the next grade-level, how to do a bridging ceremony and how to make the transition from one grade-level to the next a smooth one.  RSVP at the Council office.

Leader Appreciation Lunch

12:00pm to 2:00pm in the Council BP Room

All Girl Scout leaders and co-leaders are invited to a special luncheon where we can thank you for the hard work you put into Girl Scouting.  Join us for a delicious lunch, a fun craft and awesome door prizes!  We also have a special thank you gift for all of our amazing leaders and co-leaders.  No RSVP required, just show up for a fun lunch with fellow leaders!

Camp Rally

11:00am to 12:00pm in the Council BP Room

All Girl Scouts are invited to get a taste of camp at the Camp Rally!  There will be fun activities that you find at Camp Jessie Bloom like hilarious games, Girl Scout songs and mini s’more making!  While you’re at it, earn a free fun patch!  This is a drop-off event.  RSVP is mandatory.  Call the office to sign up.

Bridging Shop Sale!

For a whole week, all uniform accessories will be 15% off!  Plus, select Council apparel will be on sale.  Be ready for next fall and take advantage of this awesome sale!

Bridging Events

All month, Troops will be planning and putting on bridging ceremonies to celebrate their Scouts bridging up to the next grade level. Contact your troop to see if you are planning a bridging ceremony.

Leader Outdoor Skills Training

$10 per leader, bring your own mess kit, lunch will be provided.  9am to 5pm at Richie Musik’s house (directions available at the Council office)

This fun training is all about giving leaders the skills to teach girls useful outdoor skills.  This training is also required for any troop leaders who plan on going camping with their girls.  RSVP at the Council office by Monday, May 7th.

Mini BOW

Mini Becoming an Outdoor Woman (Mini BOW) is a super fun 2-night, 3-day camp-out with 60 Girl Scout Juniors and older.  Girl Scouts learn valuable outdoor skills and gain confidence in nature.  Registration is open March 5th – April 6th.  $75 per girl (non-refundable/non-transferrable).  Email program@gsak.org for more information.
