Women of Distinction

The Women of Distinction event is an annual fundraiser presented in partnership with BP.  For the last 21 years, the Farthest North Girl Scout Council has joined the community of Fairbanks to recognize and award three remarkable women, while supporting Girl Scouts in Alaska.  Click here to learn more.

May 1st – 31st Bridging Events

All month, Troops will be planning and putting on bridging ceremonies to celebrate their Scouts bridging up to the next grade level. Contact your troop to see if you are planning a bridging ceremony.

Council office closed in preparation for this annual event

Friday the 5th Council Office Closed
Saturday the 13th Leader Outdoor Skills Training

$10 per leader, bring your own mess kit, lunch will be provided.  9am to 5pm at Richie Musik’s house (directions available at the Council office)

This fun training is all about giving leaders the skills to teach girls useful outdoor skills.  This training is also required for any troop leaders who plan on going camping with their girls.  RSVP at the Council office by Monday, May 8th.

Wednesday the 17th Last Day of School
Monday the 29th Memorial Day – Council Office Closed

In observation of Memorial Day, the Council office will be closed. We will reopen with regular hours on Tuesday, May 30th.

Fridays Council office closed on Fridays through June & July
Friday the 9th All Camp Jessie Bloom paperwork and final payments due to the Council office
Thursday the 15th Troop Annual Report & Expense Reports Due
Every Friday Council office Closed on Fridays through July
Tuesday the 4th Independence Day

The Council office will be closed in observance of Independence Day. We will reopen at 9am on Wednesday, July 5th.

July 16th -29th Camp Jessie Bloom

Our residential summer camp, Camp Jessie Bloom is the last two weeks in July. Camp like a girl!

Saturday the 22nd Golden Days Parade

Float decorating –Frida, July 21st, 5pm-7pm at SPAN Alaska Parade – start at Carlson Center at 7:45am

All Girl Scouts are invited to be a part of our annual Girl Scout float in the Golden Days Parade! Scouts are required to help put the float together on Friday, July 21st. Contact the Council office for more details or to sign up.
