Mini Becoming an Outdoor Woman
Mini Becoming an Outdoor Woman (Mini BOW) is a biennial Council event based on the Department of Fish & Game’s Becoming an Outdoor Woman events. This 2-night, 3-day camp out teaches older Girl Scouts valuable outdoor skills through fun and informative skill sessions, taught by trained experts and in a beautiful, remote Alaskan setting. This super fun camping and learning opportunity helps girls to build confidence in the outdoors, making them more prepared than ever to safely experience the wonders of the natural world.
Mini BOW 2018
Mini BOW 2018 was a huge success! Girls and adults all had a wonderful time camping and learning practical outdoor skills together. The days were filled with sunshine, some wind and rain, fascinating skill sessions, great food, good company, songs and tons of laughs. There is nothing like camping with Girl Scouts!
A very special thank you goes out to all of our awesome Mini BOW volunteers, our amazing Patrol Leaders, the talented Skill Station instructors, The Army Corps of Engineers, The Alaska Department of Fish & Game, P.A.W.S. Search & Rescue, Northland Wood Products, and Alaska Tent & Tarp. Thank you all for making Mini BOW 2018 possible!
